My paintings reflect the quiet joy I experience living here in Steamboat. Since retiring from community health nursing, working with mothers and young children, I have been painting interiors and landscapes. I work with acrylics on canvas in a subdued palette, hoping to convey the expectancy found in the moment, when we quiet the mind and open ourselves to experience.
My work in clay embodies large free-form coiled stoneware sculptures of vessels. I have been working in clay and paint for decades, finding expression for the inner experience of life in its celebrations and creativity.
